Ethnographic studies of Yakuts in the 1920-1930's

The article defines the content of ethnographic research papers written in the 1920-1930-s, which were concerned with history, culture and way of life, social structure of Yakuts. The author emphasizes the role of researchers in the ethnographic study of the Yakut tribes, many of whom took part in the expeditions, and on the basis of the obtained data published their works on religious and mythological views, origin and material culture of Yakuts. The most valuable are the works of G.V. Ksenofontov and A.A. Savvin devoted to the study of shamanism.
