The ethnography of the Chechens’ life in the Central Kazakhstan

Basing upon the archival records and witnesses’ evidences the article discusses the questions of Chechens’ adaptation during their deportation to Kazakhstan. Besides, the authors describe the current activities of the Chechen diaspora in Kazakhstan (a prime example is the creation of the national cultural center "Vainakh"). It is concluded that the deported Chechens managed to integrate successfully into the social and cultural space of Kazakhstan.
