Ethno-political competition and civil society in the sustainable development of the Republic of Dagestan

This article examines some central concepts of the process of ethno-political competition. Using empirical data from the study of Dagestan people, the article examines realities of the emergence of the ethno-political competition. The paper tries to show the overall feature of ethnic competitions in the republic and suggests some recommendations on the roles that civil society as CSOs should play in addressing ethnic conflicts and sustainable development.
