On the 1 January 2015 an agreement on the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEC) came into force. Today, the member states are Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan. These states are bound by their common historical past; the peoples for a long time lived together in one big country - the USSR. After the desegregation of the Soviet Union some republics broke away and entered to the stage of building a nation-state. This process was accompanied by ethno-political conflicts. At the same time, integration processes continue playing a key role in the Eurasian space. The purpose of this article is an analysis of the perspectives for the development of ethno-political conflicts based on ethnic and cultural contradictions in EAEC member states and their impact on the general form of the Eurasian union. The relevance of this article lies in the fact that analyzing the risks of the Eurasian Economic Union, experts rarely turn to ethno-political conflicts and treat them only in the individual units, but not on a scale of the entire association.
