Ethnopolitical relations and their regulation in the border regions of Russia (on the example of Krasnodar region)

The work reveals the state and development trends of ethnopolitical relations in the conditions of the border regions of Russia (based on materials about the Krasnodar Territory). The analysis of the questionnaires results and expert surveys (2016-2019), including multi-ethnic youth, is carried out. The authors reveal the disposition specifics of the ethnopolitics subjects in the Krasnodar Territory, that is consisting in the increased influence of the Cossacks and national-cultural associations, in the territorial asymmetry of the influence of various ethnic groups. The causes of the relative stability of interethnic relations, foreign policy and intra-regional risks of conflicts are reviewed. There is established the influence of international and interregional migration on the development of ethno-political relations in the region. Attention is paid to institutions and methods of regulating interethnic relations in the political sphere and conflict prevention. Recommendations how to improve state national policy in the border regions of Russia are given.
