Traditional clothing of the evens and its modern transformation

The article summarizes and organizes various data on the traditional clothing of the Evens in terms of design, materials, decor, gender and local differences. The authors differentiate between classic, modified and borrowed clothes of the Evens. The division between these three types is based on the design of top wears. It is concluded that only two items (caftan and apron) were modified, while all other parts of traditional Even dress were replaced by borrowed garments. In the process of modernization, the clothing of the Evens became less traditional in terms of tailoring and materials used, but retained traditional decorative elements.
