This article contents review of historical parallels of N.I. Pirogov ideas of bone grafting. As authors suppose this ideas of world-famous Russian surgeon transformed to modern techniques of reconstruction of bone defect later. Two original methods of posttraumatic bone and soft tissue defects reconstruction are presented.
