Evolution of the national advocacy: history and perspectives

Purpose: To consider the problem of the establishment of the institution of the bar in Russia, to analyze the dependence of the bar on the socio-political structure, formulate a hypothesis for the further development of the institution of the bar in Russia. Methodology: In the course of the study, formal-legal, comparative-legal, historical-legal and statistical methods were used. Results: The article analyzes the influence of the socio-political system of Russia on the development of the legal profession, from which a direct relationship is seen between the level of declared freedoms and the significance of the legal profession for the further development of civil society, as well as the judicial system of the state, the conclusion is drawn on the need to strengthen the independence of the legal profession, actual ( rather than a declarative) settlement of the procedural equality of a lawyer with the prosecution in criminal proceedings. Novelty/originality/value: The article has high scientific value, because it contains conclusions and suggestions that are important for science and practice.
