Modern innovative processes are quite complex and require an analysis of the patterns of their development. The innovation process is closely related to the creation, absorption and deployment of innovations. Evolutionary development is characteristic of innovation activity. The article examines the evolution of approaches to the management of innovation processes. A few innovation management models are considered, which have consistently developed, complementing and changing each other. The evolution of models begins with the “technological push” model, and ends with a model based on the use of information technologies, which are quite popular today and are used everywhere. Real innovation processes are often implemented in a completely different way from the models under consideration. Thus, innovation is often viewed as an isolated process, rather than as part of strategic management. Thus, the considered models can be used as templates for innovation management, and the implementation of the model will differ in different companies and depend on resources, culture and needs. The main task in innovation management is to create an innovative process that adapts to the goals of a particular company and coincides with its internal and external environment.
