The evolution of sex-age structure of Russian Germans in the 1950-1980-ies (using the example of the Krasnoyarsk territory)

This article examines the basic trends and factors of changes in the sex-age structure of the Germans who lived in the rural areas of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. It reveals the general and special features in the demographic development of the Germans and other population. The authors draw a conclusion about fast demographic ageing of the German ethnos, the deformation of its structure and exhaustion of the potential of the demographic growth by the end of the Soviet period. The research is based on the materials of the censuses of 1959-1989.
