The article purpose is the detailed consideration of one of the most important concepts of Chinese Philosophy -the so-called «the Mandate of Heaven» (tianming). In the article there are some examples of its use and the interpretation in Chinese classic books. The author of the article traces the meaning evolution of each character of this philosophical concept from antiquity to nowadays.
