Evolution of relativistic electron fluxes in the geostationary orbit during solar cycles 22 and 23. Seasonal variations

We have studied seasonal variations in relativistic electron fluxes in the geostationary orbit. We have used data on electron fluxes (>2 MeV) obtained from 13 GOES satellites during solar cycles 22 and 23. The analysis of data has showed that the seasonal variation phase changes in a certain way during each solar cycle. At solar minimum, maxima of electron fluxes are observed mainly before the equinoxes. At solar maximum, maxima of fluxes follow the equinoxes. Appearance of maxima and minima of electron fluxes during a year is caused by the general change in magnetic activity.
