The evolution of the views of the CDU / CSU leaders on the role and place of the United Germany in the European space

The article discusses the influence of political programs of the prominent leaders of the CDU/CSU (K. Adenauer, H. Kohl) on the modern domestic and foreign policy of Germany, carried out by A. Merkel. The activities of K. Adenauer were associated with the program of European integration, and it determined the subsequent course of the European policy of the CDU/CSU. H. Kohl determined the priority areas of government work, such as overcoming the split of Germany, building effective cooperation with NATO, and creation of “stable and merited international environment, which should give all people a chance of freedom".
