The Yukaghirs of Yakutia: from the tribal system to the self-government of 1920-s

The article deals with the formation of self-government institutions in the Kolyma Yukaghir district of Yakutia in the 1920-s. An attempt to integrate the Soviet system of government in the traditional organization of the Yukaghirs is considered. The author analyses the history of legal regulation of this issue and shows the basic activity of the first Soviet government in regard to Yukagirs.
