Legal responsibility of Finnish authorities for environmental offence

The judicial system of Finland consists of courts of general jurisdiction and administrative courts that administer justice in environmental matters. Environmental offence, including the ones committed by the countries’ officials, local authorities and other authoritative bodies, is a subject to review by the court of general jurisdiction. Impeachment of judgments takes place in administrative courts at various levels. The article deals with the definition of the term “administrative responsibility” as one of the most important forms protecting environmental rights of the people. The system of administrative courts’ organization is studied, and it’s efficiency is substantiated on the examples gained from judicial practice.
