South-Ural State University: the basic marks of history

The article is devoted to history of creation and development of one of the largest high schools in the country. The author considers the basic directions of work of the high school, the history of creation of separate faculties and departments, different aspects of teaching staff formation. On the basis of archival materials and memoirs of workers of university many plots connected with development of branches of high school, organization of research work and development of a social infrastructure of university are restored.
