The article examines the history and architectural features of the south tower of the Mint in St. Petersburg. Built together with the main building of the Mint at the beginning of the 19th century, the tower is an integral part of the centrally symmetrical composition of the building. The author of the article draws attention to the blueprints, their attribution and possible differences in the layouts of the southern and northern towers. The history of the use of the tower, starting in 1841, when the Mint archive was located in it, is also examined. Documents on the reconstruction of the tower, created in the middle of the 19th century, are analyzed. The article provides quotes from reports and certificates reflecting the process of work on architectural changes in the south tower of the Mint.
