The author studies the features of growth and development of unused early in breeding 16 South American wild potato species during their growing in open and covered soil. The inheritance peculiarities of resistance to late blight of potato and Colorado beetle in F1 hybrids from crossing of dihaploid varieties with wild potato were determined. It was noted, that generative stage of ontogenesis in plants of S. ambosinum, S. marinasense, S. avilesii, S. gandarillasii, S. Doddsii species is delayed with rise of temperature. It was shown, that South American wild species as plants-pollinators crossing successfully with varieties and dihaploids of cultured potato, at that the hybridization on diploid level is most effective. It was established, that resistance to late blight of potato and Colorado beetle in F1 hybrids from crossing dihaploids with South American wild potato is determined by genotype features of their parents.
