The paper is devoted to individual fragments of the biography of the social democrat M.L. Kheisin with an emphasis on his activities during the years of the Krasnoyarsk Republic in 1905. The study analyses the memoirs of the participants in the events of December 1905 in the city of Krasnoyarsk, when the united Soviet of Workers 'and Soldiers' Deputies took power in the city, as well as reviews historiography on who was part of the editorial staff of the newspaper "Krasnoyarskii Rabochii" in 1905 and was its editor. The author comes to the conclusion that the affiliation of M.L. Kheisin 's loyalty to the Menshevik, rather than the Bolshevik wing of Russian social democracy was the main reason for his name as the first editor of one of Russia's oldest newspapers to be hushed up in Russian Soviet historiography. The situation has not changed much in the modern era. The history of the Krasnoyarsk Republic in the latest historiography is presented with only minor adjustments compared to what was written in the Soviet period. M.L. Kheisin's name due to the incomplete study of the topic is hushed up in the scientific literature today. The rubble, "heaped up" by Soviet historians, to a large extent still remain unassembled. The study concludes that it is necessary to perpetuate the memory of M.L. Kheisin both in Yeniseisk, where he was born, and in Krasnoyarsk. There is also the task of creating an objective generalizing work on the history of the Krasnoyarsk Republic in 1905. For the first time, archived biographical data about M.L. Kheisin is introduced into scientific circulation and published as an appendix to the article, testifying that it was he who was the first editor of the "Krasnoyarskii Rabochii" newspaper. The first published archival reference about when, for what reasons and how M.L. Kheisin was arrested and punished by the tsar authorities for his political activities is also of obvious interest.
