To the history of study of Tver regional ornithofauna: Goebel's observations (second half of XIX century)

Observations, made by ornithologist Goebel on the course of steamboat down-stream Volga travel from Tver in May 1864, are given. Among 22 species of birds, recorded by Goebel, five are now included in Red Data Book of Tver Region. Possible changes in ornithofauna of Volga basin are linked to the shift of its hydrological regime due to massive reservoirs construction in the first half of XX century. The lack of observations on passerines is due to difficulties, experienced by Goebel in their visual identification from the board of the boat.
