On the History of Making a Biographical Dictionary of Graduates of the Saint Petersburg Theological Academy in 1871–1918

The article is devoted to the history of preparation for the publication of the continuation of the biographical dictionary of graduates of the Saint Petersburg Theological Academy. The preserved materials are located in the Department of manuscripts of the Russian national library. The article provides information about the circumstances of the appearance and implementation of the idea in trial editions; the role of K. Ya. Zdravomyslov, N. V. Smirnov, teachers and graduates of the Academy. The author gives a source description of the array, provides examples of biographical information, reports data on the information completeness of the materials with a prospective assessment of the resumption of work on creating a Dictionary. This work should be a continuation of the work of the librarian of the Saint Petersburg Theological Academy A. S. Rodossky “Biographical dictionary of students of the first XXVIII courses of the Saint Petersburg Theological Academy: 1814–1869” (St. Petersburg, 1907).
