We study the adhesion strength of the ice crust freezed on the surface of the structure element, depending on conditions at the boundary, including the ratio of shear and normal stresses and the influence of lateral constraint, the geometry of the surface and an150 tiadhesion coating. In accordance with the objective of the study we proposed the methods and devices for measuring the adhesion of ice to other materials, in particular to the cylindrical samples in a combined shear (along the axis of the specimen and in the circumferential direction). It is shown that even a small shear in the circumferential direction essentially reduces adhesion resistance to axial shear. The adhesion of ice to the real structural element of current-carrying cable with and without antiadhesion coating was studied. The conclusions about the practical application of the results were made.
