As a result of the research of the ecological and coenotic conditions, age structure and thyme (Thymus karavaevii Doronkin, Th. pavlovii Serg., Th. sibiricus (Serg.) Klokov et Shost.) populations productivity that are growing in the Buotama lower reaches stony steppes and flood meadows and in the Ulakhan Tarynnakh outfall running into the Lena River, it is determined that the populations with great abundance and efficiency are confined to the places with weak competitive relationships - steppe communities with thin grass canopy and overgrown shingle on the riversides.
