On the problem of spread of extremism among youth

The paper discusses problems associated with the spread of extremism among youth. The author studies various ways of involving youth into extremist activities and offers ways of countering this process. Attention is drawn to the need for joint work of government authorities, public and educational organizations for prevention of spread of extremism among youth. Increasing complexity of the phenomenon of extremism and its transition to clandestine forms leads to the fact that society is forced to look for new methods of countering it. Unfortunately, it is observed that what addressed at the moment is not the root causes of the spread of extremism among youth but their consequences. To tackle the problem, force methods are primarily used, while young people due to the characteristics of their emotional state require attention of their parents, teachers, and psychologists. The spread of extremism among youth is the result of a large number of problems. To cope with these problems comprehensive and thoughtful actions are required.
