On the galliforms’ distribution and biology in Central Sayan (Tuva)

Five species of Galliformes are linving in the eastern part of the Altai-Sayan Mountainous Region year-round. Their distribution and biology are closely related to the altitude, climat and food availability. Tundra and White partridges inhabit the high-altitude tundra; the mountain taiga is inhabited by Wood grouse, Grouse and Black grouse. We also report rare observations of the Altai ular.
