Okhta 1 is a unique site with well-persevered remains of wooden constructions. Excavations covered the most part of its area (over 6700 sq. m). Fishing-hunting associations were discovered, yielding ceramics, stone tools, wooden and bark vessels, adornments made of amber and slate. The materials have the analogies among the Neolithic and Early Metal Age finds from the Baltic zone, Karelia, Leningrad Region and Finland. The site's chronology falls within the 4 th - 3 rd mill. BC, according to 150 radiocarbon dates. The cultural deposit excavated under thick silt-sand sediments is promising in searching Neolithic - Early Metal Age sites in the Prinevsky region.
