То the semantic dynamics of political symbols: the tsar «terror» in the Russian journalism of the 16-th century

This paper analyzes the changes in the ideas of the old Russian scribes about the essence of the tsar power and the personality of the tsar. The use of the lexeme «terror» and combinations based on it, as well as the lexemes of the association number presented in the writings of the publicist Ivan Peresvetov (the 16-th century), «Bolshaya Chelobitnaya» and «Malaya Chelobitnaya» (petitions) addressed to Ivan the Terrible are studied here. The story about Makhmet Sultan is also analyzed in this work.
