The creation of the local branches of the society of adherents of the Russian historical education in memory of the emperor Alexander III in Priamursky region

At the end of the 19th century, the Society of adherents of the Russian history education in memory of the emperor Alexander III was established in Saint Petersburg. The Statute of the Society supposed the creation of its branches throughout the territory of the Russian Empire. Society’s chairman, count Sergey Sheremet’ev addressed a proposal to establish such branches to the governor-general of the Priamursky region. The article considers the efforts of the governorgeneral and public organizations of the region in establishing the local branch of the society.
