For the 100th anniversary of E. E. Tarmakhanov: a teacher, scientist and real man

The article is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Efrem E. Tarmakhanov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Honored Scientist of the Buryat ASSR and the RSFSR. The work is based on publications about the scientist and materials from the personal archive of E. E. Tarmakhanov reflecting the facts of his creative, scientific and educational activities. We have described the main stages of his life and professional activities, including the public one, as well as popularization and propaganda of historical knowledge, considered the scientific interests of E. E. Tarmakhanov, his main publications - monographs on the history of the industrial development of Buryatia and the national regions of Siberia, historiography, local history, etc. Being a recognized teacher of teachers, E. E. Tarmakhanov actively participated in the training and certification of scientific and pedagogical personnel, and leaved a large number of grateful students. We also have emphasized that the strength of a resilient character allowed the professor to remain a socially active, vivid and radiant personality until the end of his life.
