Role of computed tomograpgy in assessment of the extent of nasopharyngeal cancer involvement

Computed tomography findings were analyzed for 47 patients with nasopharyngeal cancer. The diagnosis was confirmed by histopathological examination of biopsy and surgical specimens. The CT data allowed one to differentiate epithelial cancer from lymphoepithelioma of the nasopharynx before verification of the diagnosis as well as to assess the extent of tumor involvement.
