On the question of the evolution of peasant cooperatives of the Volga region in the early XX century

The article on the example of the Volga provinces traces the development of cooperation in the Russian countryside in the early XX century. It focuses on credit cooperatives. Along with the successes moments that has an inhibitory effect and prevented the cooperative movement in the country are identified. In particular, the low cultural level of the peasantry is specified.
