There are issues of diagnosing the state of equity of modern banks are considered in a scientific article by Crimean authors. The authors identify the main stages in the formation of the structure of the financial resources of the bank. It is proved that with the increase in the share of highly liquid assets, the bank must ensure the growth of equity so that its growth rate outstrips the growth rate of risky assets. An algorithm is proposed for constructing a model for diagnosing equity as a component of a bank’s financial resources. Using the correlation analysis, the authors of the study established the existence of a direct dependence of the volume of profit on the volume of equity. An analysis of the dynamics of the average return indicator and the coefficient of profitability variation by the groups of banks gives grounds to assert that in each of the groups of banks during the study period there were sharp deviations in the financial result of individual banks. It was revealed that the largest share of equity is concentrated in banks belonging to the largest group, although this group is the least numerous. It is concluded that the largest banks accumulate almost half of the total equity of the banking system; they are characterized by a close dependence of the volume of profit on the volume of equity; at the same time, minor fluctuations in the share of equity capital of banks of this group are traced.
