Concerning the nature of lekianoba in the context of relations between the peoples of Caucasus, Iran and Turkey

Basing upon the research of scientific sources and literature the authors review such a phenomenon as lekianoba (sporadic forays and marauds), which had a considerable impact on socioeconomic life of Dagestan highlanders in the 18 th - early 19 th centuries. The facts under consideration describe the maneuvering policy of Georgian princes and tsars.
