To the question of the place of controlling in an oilfield service

The article considers a controlling as an element of financial and economic stability of oilfield services companies. Consistent answers to the following questions are given: the content of the term controlling is disclosed in relation to an oilfield service and the degree of influence of the process on the financial and economic stability of the company is shown by the example of geophysical production during seismic exploration; the role of controlling system in ensuring financial and economic stability is established from the standpoint of the study of the institutional components of the organization. Theoretical concepts of controlling are presented in the form of a management subsystem that combines analytical information planning management control and integration resources of the enterprise. The interrelation of classic elements of management theory and resource components of the controlling system is shown, taking into account the specifics of oilfield service production on the example of the geophysical subsegment of the industry - seismic exploration. The methodological basis of the controlling subsystem of controlling in a geophysical company is presented in the form interconnected control and analytical functional blocks provided with an integral reliable information support system. According to the place of controlling defined in the study in the organizational structure of a geophysical enterprise, its institutional nature is revealed as a kind of sole coordinator-controller helping to ensure effective operational management based on established formalized rules for reducing internal transaction and economic costs aimed at maximizing profits. It is established that the controlling system does not replace and does not perform management functions, but is an important element of micro-institutional internal environment as a subsystem that facilitates the adoption of sound management decisions and contributes to improving financial and economic stability.
