Toward the birthplace of prince Gantimur

The article is devoted to the biography of the Tungus prince Gantimur, we put forward a hypothesis about his birthplace based on the historical sources. The personality of Gantimur is unique, he is the only Tungus prince in the history of Russia. It is noteworthy that with the exception of the official letters of Emperor Kangxi, in which he calls on the Russian side to return the fugitive, today there is not enough information about Gantimur himself and his family members in China. The article analyzes various data on Gantimur’s descent, including the studies of Russian scientists.
