On the issue of new forms of self-organization for the Russian orthodox church

Community structures’ activity of the Russian Orthodox Church is considered in the article. The phenomenon of “Orthodox ashram” has been analyzed in particular. We may consider “the orthodox ashram” as cohesive religious associations headed by a charismatic leader. These associations have a relative autonomy from “dominant Church”. The phenomenon of “ashramization” shows that the modern Russian Orthodoxy isn’t a monolithic structure but it’s very multifarious essentially. It is expected that this phenomenon could be a precondition for the Russian Orthodox Church’s reform into perspective.
