Concerning the concept of secrecy in criminal proceedings

The article describes the main approaches of Russian scientists to the definition of “legal secrecy” and analyzes the concept of “secrecy” in the criminal aspect. The lack of the legal secrecy definition in the legislation of the Russian Federation has necessitated referring to the statutory regulation of such a phenomenon in other countries (USA, UK). As a result of studying of the legal and scientific sources the authors have formulated original definitions of concepts of “secrecy", “secrecy in criminal proceedings” in accordance with the criteria of scientific novelty.
