Concerning improvement of Russia's geopolitical status in Northeast Asia

The article assesses the geopolitical status of Russia in Northeast Asia in comparison with the major countries of the region: China, South Korea and Japan. The paper considers the main problems that hinder the strengthening of the status of the Russian Federation in the Northeast Asia. The author discusses the key areas of regional development, requiring management intervention, namely: improvement of human resources and investment attractiveness of the Far East, restoration of the military capability of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Navy, development of relations with China and Korea in the trade-economic sphere and the sphere of security, and others.
