The aim of the study is to consider the phenomenon of historical reconstruction and its manifestation in the Russian Far East. Objectives: the content analysis of the term "historical reconstruction" and the main approaches to its study in scientific literature; description and peculiarities of the development of the reconstruction movement in the Far Eastern region. General scientific methods of cognition were used in the study, including generalization, description, analysis, comparison and observation. In addition, specific historical methods were used, namely: concrete historical and problemchronological ones. The methodological basis of the study was the basic scientific principles, such as critical interpretation of the source base, depoliticized approach, objectivity and historicism. The author considers the main interpretations of the content of the concept "historical reconstruction", directions and characteristic features, as well as scientific publications of both the all-Russian and Far Eastern levels. It is noted that, despite its relevance, the topic remains on the periphery of the research interest of Far Eastern science. Far Eastern historical reconstruction appeared later than in the European part of Russia, and the process of its full-fledged development continues. Far Eastern, as well as all-Russian, reconstruction is characterized by a military focus, manifested in the activities of clubs, mainly located in the southern, most populated part of the region, and the festivals held. The latter are conventionally divided into universal (not associated with any specific event or era) and thematic (Ancient Rus' of the 9th-11th centuries, the Far East in the 17th century, the Civil and Great Patriotic Wars of the 20th century). Despite a certain lag behind the designers of the European part of Russia in the degree of authenticity, the level of theoretical and practical training, and comparative small numbers, Far Eastern historical reconstruction has great potential in scientific, patriotic, educational, economic and tourist and other senses, and requires systematic study.
