The fall of meteorites and other natural disasters, such as volcanic eruptions, are currently the subjects of controversial discussions in specialized scientific, scientific-popular and online publications, as well as in certain media. The authors have proposed to the attention of the scientific community their own version of the origin and development of such natural phenomena, based on the features of the “steam explosion” phenomenon.
