On the question of the specificity of methods of sociology of internet

The article is devoted to topical problems of a fundamentally new discipline of knowledge - sociology of Internet. In many of its problems, the author draws attention to the specifics of the methods of scientific knowledge of the virtual space of man and society. The original interpretation of on-line methods is suggested, such as, for example, observation, etc. It is emphasized that it is necessary to take into account the fact that each person hides a real person in a typical or individually conditioned situation. And this requires the connection of all methods to address the problems of sociology of Internet, not only from purely research, but also ethical positions. The author considers the problems of the status and relevance of sociology of Internet, as basic in the definition of methods. As an example, people's participation in virtual religious practices in cyberspace, the personal position of the researcher, and openness are examined.
