Towards the tourism policy in the Russian Far East, 1989-2012

The article discusses the activities of executive authorities in the field of tourism in the Russian Far East and analyzes the main directions of tourism policy, highlighting the key issues and events that influenced the further development of tourism in the region. The author describes the positive aspects of the implementation of the tourism policy, but also draws attention to the problematic issues of regional tourism. The author concludes that the development of the tourism in the Russian Far East should be oriented not only to the external, but also to the internal market.
