To the question about the literary method and the character in Richard Wright’s novel "The Outsider"

The aim of the article is to examine the problem of correlation between the poetics of character and the literary method in Richard Wright’s novel “The Outsider”. Deficient research on such kind of interaction between literary categories in the writer’s works makes this problem topical. The choice of the novel is based on the task to prove that the author adheres to the realistic method while creating Cross Damon’s character. It takes place in spite of intimacy the problems of “The Outsider” with existential prose that has an effect on the poetics of character as well.
