On the case of Pskov province, the practice of Magistrate’s court regaining in the period of Provisional Government ruling is researched. During the study of archival materials it was revealed that in Pskov province, in the period of regaining the Magistrate’s court, the institute of temporary magistrate judges was introduced. A question of numerical proportion of temporary magistrate judges and the staff schedule of magistrate judges, who had to be elected under the law from the 4th of May, 1917 “On the temporary structure of local courts”, is considered. The problem of security of personnel staff of temporary magistrate judges is analyzed. The author pays special attention to the difficulties that the bodies of Provisional Government were facing while implementing judicial transformations on the territory of Pskov land: the lack of staff and low paid wages. As a result, the locals began to take part in the procedures as assistants. The author comes to a conclusion of complexity and incompleteness of the Magistrate's court organization on the territory of the province, which was interrupted by the coming of the Soviets.
