A case from the pathological practice of postmortem examination of the fetus with diagnosed COVID-19 disease during pregnancy was analyzed. The incidence of COVID-19 increases the risk of pregnancy pathology and poor outcomes due to changes in both maternal and fetal organisms during gestation. The presence of SARS-nCoV-2 RNA, which is found in the placenta and lung, as well as pronounced morphological changes in fetal lungs, liver and in the placenta, indicate the penetration of this virus through the blood-placental barrier. This condition complicates the course of pregnancy and requires the development of new approaches to managing this category of patients.
