On the XV United Nations Congress on crime prevention and criminal justice: new challenges and prospects

N a radically changed world order, the fight against crime has become a global transnational challenge that requires an active effort by the international community. The UN congresses on crime prevention and criminal justice play a significant role in coordinating the activities of states to counter new threats and challenges. The purpose of the research is to identify, on the basis of a study of the UN activities’ history in combating crime, current problems inherent in the organization of the UN congresses’ work and to define the elements of proposed reform.
