On the issue of legislative enshrinement of the possibility of using evidence in electronic form as a promising direction for digitalization of proceedings in cases of administrative offenses

The article is devoted to certain issues of digitalization of various spheres of society, including the implementation of proceedings in cases of administrative offenses. The first evidence in electronic form began to appear in administrative cases of offenses in the field of road safety. Further automation of proceedings in cases of administrative offenses was proposed by the Ministry of Justice of Russia in the draft Procedural Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offences, which enshrines the concept of an electronic document, as well as regulating the conduct of court hearings through video-conferencing and web conferences, remote participation of individual citizens in these meetings, as well as the use of various types of digital signatures and the Unified Biometric System for identifying citizens. In the article, the author draws attention to the inaccuracies contained in the said bill from the perspective of law enforcement, and suggests ways to improve the identified issues.
