To the question of the assortment of arboreal plants of the Saint-Petersburg's city parks

On the basis of the authors' data and publications of the last twenty years (17 references) the taxonomic list of arboreal plants of St.-Petersburg, including 404 species and forms of 104 genera of 43 families has been compiled. The list includes the plants of different vital forms, from dwarf subshrubs till trees of the first size. Species of native flora of North-Western Russia (102 species), as well as introduced and alien species are separately noted, and the widespread species are also listed. Also synonymous and some ambiguous taxa are pointed. Totally, as a result of inspection of five St.-Petersburg’s city parks (in 2001-2002, with specification of the data on some certain taxa the next years) 12 species and the forms new to the public gardens and parks of St.-Petersburg have been revealed. Now the assortment of arboreal plants promising for city gardening has considerably enlarged in connection with the warming of the climate.
