The article examines the multifaceted creative heritage in the field of musical performance of Ferdinand David, an outstanding German violinist of the 19th century. His role and contribution to the development of musical art is highlighted, the main stages of his career are analyzed, as well as his influence on modern performance. Particular attention is paid to his activities as a solo performer, member of ensembles and conductor. His contributions to the editing and adaptation of early violin music are also examined.
