The current level of development of criminology and forensic examination creates favorable conditions for solving the problems of solving and investigating crimes, eliminating errors that could lead to violations of the law. The issues that can be resolved through forensic examinations and research in a significant proportion of cases can be significantly expanded through the use of an integrated approach. Forensic examination is a reliable source of obtaining and verifying factual data in the detection and investigation of crimes. A lot of attention is paid to the integrated approach in solving expert tasks by scientists and practitioners of expert departments. This is due to a number of objective reasons: firstly, this approach is of interest, both theoretically and methodologically, for any of the areas of forensic examination, and secondly, it allows to expand the possibilities of expert research and, in some cases, to increase the reliability of the results obtained. Comprehensive examinations and studies are appointed when, in order to establish circumstances of evidentiary importance, it is necessary to simultaneously conduct research using different fields of scientific knowledge, or using different scientific directions of the same field of knowledge. The article analyzes the theoretical foundations and features of the use of a set of knowledge in the framework of forensic expertise. The results obtained emphasize that an integrated approach to the study of trace information expands the possibilities of obtaining factual data.
